Helped Union National Bank of Elgin (UNB) execute a complete rebrand. The client is a family-owned bank that’s served Chicago for more than 100-years. We saw their potential to grow their business through their digital presence. We evaluated the current brand and needed an innovative visual identity system to align with their modern, updated digital brand adequately.

About the Company

Union National Bank has been serving Elgin and the Chicago Metro Area for over 100 years since opening in 1904. As innovators within both local and national banking communities, Union National Bank provides service-based, personalized solutions. With simple processes and quick responses, their talented team will take care of all banking needs. Specializing in commercial loans and banking services, Union National Bank offers the concierge services all small businesses deserve.

Over the past 100+ years, their focus has been on building strong relationships and offering customized solutions. They have relationships that have lasted four to five generations. Their board of directors comprised primarily of entrepreneurs, who expanded the conversation on how to best serve small business owners.

Challenge

UNB’s has been building strong relationships and customized solutions. The challenge was to enhance the user experience and simplify day-to-day online managing systems. Our central focus was working on a custom-developed pdf, using Javascript, where clients/businesses could achieve complex calculations, so UNB can faster analyze the data and propose their solutions to the client.

The main challenge was to design a better user experience for UNB clients. We accomplished refreshing the central print and web materials (business cards, letterheads, email signatures), web maintenance, and custom modules integrations on the UNB website.

Process

We were brought on the team to work on the new proposal to refresh print materials and the user experience. We worked closely with art director and senior developer, bouncing between print work and developing custom components for the UNB website.

Conclusion

We proposed to UNB more interactive materials, simplifying and automating day-to-day user activities. Working with the banking industry taught us the importance of brand trust and backed processes of bank calculations. Working with Union National Bank, we delivered the projects on time and surpassing client expectations.
